Pitch : On the top of a building in construction, Jack-Ollie's welder routine is disrupted by
Maggie’s ambitious research for the perfect vertiginous shot.
Synopsis : Jack, a solitary welder, is focused on his work at a New Y ork skyscraper’s construction site when his routine is disrupted by Maggie, an ambitious young photojournalist on the hunt for the perfect shot. Initially reluctant to be photographed, Jack finds her bold and reckless presence challenging to his composure and control. Y et, through her persistence and surprising ease at such great heights, an unexpected connection begins to form between them.
Element of the Intention Note : Feeling alive is at core of the philosophy of both of the charaters. Jack romanticizes the void and the construction of a perfect safe place, closer to the sky. He could be seen at the first sight as an American Stakanov, but he developed a more individualist approach to his way of life. He is in need of a deeper relationship but misses it as he refuses to engage in any by staying at the edge of it. Jack is consciously creating a void around him in order to let higher things to come, to feel greater spaces and a deeper sense of freedom. This void around mirrors and symbolizes the encounter of two hearts that is to come, abyssus abyssum invocat.
